There are countless of affiliate programs available on the internet now. How do you choose one that pays, and offer your customer quality products? We will share with you how now. We will guide you in a 4 step check list to evaluating the best affiliate program to suit your needs
When choosing the right affiliate program, consider their:
Check 1: Company & Product
You need to look at the company and the product. If they reputable, chances are that will be easier to market. Thus allowing you to earn potentially more than a product that looks lousy. Do some background study on the company and products. Read people’s review about them.
- Is the company stable?
Is it a new or an established company?
Fly-by-night company?
- What do people feel about the product?
What is it?
Is it an Electronic Book? Or are they selling a Membership, Or are they selling a Product?
Check if the information based Electronic Product is of original content.
It is simple to check on the company and its products. Just do a Google search of “the company’s URL” and “reviews of the company”. Forums are also a good source of information, where you can see reviews made by other affiliate marketers.
Choosing the best affiliate program for you also dependent on how much effort you wish to put in to the marketing.
Check 2: Compensation / Commission Plan
Make sure you know and understand how the compensation plan of the company works. There are typically 2 kind of compensation plan around;
- Direct Commission Based:This commission system pays you a one time/ recurring fixed percentage of price on each and every sale made through your affiliate link. Commission can range from 30%-75%.
- 2 Tier Compensation Plan: It have become increasing in popularity in recent times. 2 tier compensation is a way of paying you for every sale on your first level and when your customers decided to refer to their friends as well, you make a commission from your customers’ sale too.
Many good affiliates can be found on affiliates directories like ClickBank and Commission Junction.
Check 3: Support & Training
Look at the company. Do they give support and training for you to market their products? You should be looking for:
- Email scripts
- Advertising Banners
- Online statistic tracking system
- Marketing Resource
- Backend system and customer service
- etc…
Personally, we prefer affiliate marketing programs that provides training on internet marketing or whatever knowledge require in that niche to increase our marketing competency of the program.
Check 4: Payment Methods & Punctuality
This point is the most crucial factor you need to consider when choosing a credible affiliate program. Do not underestimate this point!!
You have to find an affiliate marketing program that pays. There isn’t really any point putting in the countless hours and great effort driving traffic to your websites and making sales, when in the end you don’t get paid. Make sure you check out from existing affiliates of that affiliate marketing program on how they pay out their commissions (e.g. check, PayPal) and if they pay out punctuality.
A good affiliate company will give you your commission promptly, provide you with all the necessary training and marketing resources you need. Do a thorough check before you market their product.
