Typical and Traditional Designs of Espresso Cups

Every morning people are usually looking for the aroma of coffee. Coffee has been part of most people’s morning rituals at the breakfast table. Even on their free time outside their home, they usually look for a coffee shop and enjoy a specially made hot or cold coffee. To make the coffee time more fun, cups – whether disposable or not are creatively designed.

Espresso means “pressed out” in Italian. The finest coffee beans are being pressed out in a machine. Once the process of making the espresso is done, you may now enjoy the dark coffee topped with froth called crema and inhale its rich aroma. This espresso is not going to be complete without using espresso cups.

An espresso cup traditionally comes in porcelain. They have the size that can hold up to 3 ounce amount of coffee. The cup with matching saucer is what a perfect espresso tool must be like. Plain colored or fancily designed, the overall outer appearance of an espresso cup is also evolving.

Since in Italy, their very own and original espresso cups made from porcelain with thick wall and are either plain white or painted with something, you may also want your own espresso cup be like those original ones. Even if you choose to simply have the plain white color of the cup, there are still various designs available that make your cup special.

The handles for instance of espresso cups come in different style. Some of them have a square handle while others have curved shape. Even the rim of the cup has various shape – some have rounded shape while other cups have a square rim but the corners are slightly rounded.

If you think a plain white porcelain espresso cup won’t match your personality, there are various designs that were used to create a more appealing espresso cup. Demitasse is the other term for an espresso cup with a hand-painted design.

If you choose to have those printed espresso cups, you may find choosing the most beautiful design enjoyable. The traditional espresso cup is commonly painted with a city or any nice scenery. You may find a good view of an Italian city designed in your cup if you want to. For a simpler design, you may want to choose the cup that has a certain word (such as espresso) written on it.
