In fact, a designer can even lower the production costs greatly by coming up with improvements in the design.
Industrial design also encompasses other features such as product packaging, study of a consumer\’s psychological reaction towards a product, and his or her degree of sentimental attachment to the item. It is for this reason that industrial designers have to undergo years of strict training to make themselves suitable for the profession and begin designing products.
Some of the illustrious names in the field are those of Brooks Stevens, credited with designing the Harley-Davidson motorbike, Raymond Loewy, the legendary designer of the Coca-Cola bottle and Jonathan Ive, the famous designer of the iMac.
