Interior design jobs are kind of like winning the lottery. There are lots of entry level jobs, but gaining a top level job will take a lot of connections and a little bit of luck. Interior design is a great industry to be sure, but it is also one that takes a lot of dues paying in order to climb up the ranks. Keep in mind that interior designers may also work with many different people in various fields. This includes painters, plumbers, electricians, contractors among others. Some of these jobs may even require the designer to select the contractors to do the work. This means that another important aspect of a professional interior designer is to be able to properly budget a job and stay within that budget. As you can see, interior design work is so much more than just decorating a room and making some additional space. You’ll need a lot of education and experience. But, once you have the qualifications you will be able to get just about any type of interior design job you want.
