Having the perfect yard starts with a good landscape design plan. Getting things right before you even start will make things easier when you are planting as well as when the plants mature. Improper planning may have you ripping things out a couple of years down the road due to overcrowding or light issues.

Having a beautiful yard is great, but not quite as great as having a yard that is beautiful and functional. Being able to enjoy your yard while you are reading a book, eating dinner or drinking coffee, makes all the work that much more rewarding. Find out how you would like to spend your time in your new space so you can make the right plans to meet your special needs.

Small yards are often hard to manage due to the fact there is just not much room to incorporate all the things you want. The key to making the best of a little yard is to have items which have more than one purpose. Padded benches can be made a little wider and used for mid-afternoon naps, or a dining seat. Flower pots can hold flowers as well as vegetables or even strawberries.

A larger yard can be easier to deal with when you break it up into sections. Create a dining space, lounging area, kitchen, garden and lawn by adding natural fences, boarders or even a patio. A wall of hedges with flowers at the base will create an intimate and private location for a set of chairs and side table. Adding a flower boarder around a designated area will also give you a sense of being in a different “room”.

It’s easy to incorporate fruits, vegetables and herbs in any garden regardless of space. If you have a large yard you may just want to designate a patch of land solely for food production. Large or smaller yards look great with different vegetables mixed into boarders or on terraced planter beds. If you are short on space, or want to keep it simple, grow your ingredients in pots on the patio, many varieties take well to those conditions.

Pots are not only good for vegetables, they also work great throughout the yard and patio. The pots themselves add texture and personality to the surroundings while the plants and flowers add color and depth. When placing pots, keep similar colors together so there is a nice visual flow in the space, but don’t forget to add patterns and solids.

Fences and walls can be eye sores if they’re not specially designed or made with upgraded materials. Gardening vertically is a perfect way to eliminate the fading wood facade or plain wall. Add climbing vines and hanging or potted plants to these spaces in order bring out the structural importance. Another way to add more color is by adding tall potted plants or to hang baskets from shepherds hooks.

The perfect yard starts with research and ideas. Landscape design is more than buying what you like, it is about incorporating what you like into a cohesive and functional space. Make sure you understand your growing conditions and select plants which thrive in the environment that you live. These few Toronto landscape designers tips should help you get started on the perfect space.

Tile is found in homes almost anywhere. Glass tile is one of the latest trends in home decor. It is easy to come by and can be purchased at most hardware and flooring stores.

These tiles are a great way to dress up a kitchen back splash or add color and texture to a bathroom showers, walls and counter space. Adding a mosaic made of tile is a great way to bring art into a home. They are often found around the walls and surfaces of pools. These tiles can be used inside or outdoors. There are even tiles made for floors with a non slip coating. Glass tiles are also popular because they are easy to purchase and come in a wide variety of colors and sizes.

Installation of glass tile can go well as long as proper planning is done and the right tools for the job are at hand. Have a plan when installing the tiles. Think about how the tile will need to be cut. Consider if drilling will be required to install them. Know the pattern that will be used and how much space you have for the pattern. Finishing the edge of the tile is also important to consider because it can have rough edges. There are tools that can help to smooth the edges and give it a nice finish. Thinking about these things ahead of time can help produce a better result in the end.

It is also important to consider what will be done with the grout. Grout also comes with a variety of colors so pick one that will compliment or contrast the tiles. Using a back and forth motion and filling the space until it is full is a good tip for installing grout. This will give it a nice and even look.

One of the benefits of these type of tiles are they are easy and simple to clean. Normally a warm wet rag will do the job just fine. If this does not work consider using a cleaning product. They can be found at almost and store that sells cleaning products.

Glass tiles are a great way to bring color into a room. They have an expensive look that comes along with an affordable price. Choosing these tiles to decorate a home will give it an upscale and modern feel.

If you are planning a home remodeling project and need to purchase some ceramic tile for cheap, then visit Tile Supply Online for all your tile needs. Their comprehensive catalogue offers a great selection of tiles for any room and in many sizes, styles and materials. From bath to kitchen, they have you covered!

Carol Odell opted for painting as her means of expression when she was young and decided to go to art institution. Since completing a BFA from the Boston Museum School / Tufts University in 1967, she has made art and design a part of her life. After discovering several media after some time, she has opted for oil paint as her favored medium for its performing qualities as well as richness of color. Gouache as well as monotype works on paper boost her larger oil works on canvas, wood panels as well as folding screens. Managing the Odell studio / gallery has provided her with the fulfilling experience of direct contact and relationships with a lot of enthusiasts of her work. Her work is also currently represented by the Rice / Polak Gallery in Provincetown, MA and in many juried group exhibits in the New England region. She exhibits regularly with the Monotype Guild of New England of which she had been president for 3 years.

David Smith-Harrison was born in Salt Lake City, Utah in which he has spent the greater part of his existence. In 1977 he was awarded a Utah State Sterling Scholarship, prior to going on to be schooled at the South Glamorgan Institute, Cardiff, Wales in 1983 as well as the University of Utah, Salt Lake City in 1984.

His highly original printmaking, which combines traces of Renaissance form architecture with vividly rendered natural objects, depends on his fascination for drawing. “Drawing is of central importance to me,” he says, “it is a tool for developing my powers of observation and memory.”

The fragile process of printmaking carries a much higher aspect of surprise. Smith-Harrison loves this somewhat unstable delivery of his concepts. He states “I am attracted to the infinite possibilities of impressing ink onto paper and I find the unique textural characteristics of prints to be stimulating, seductive, and full of subtlety and nuance.” It is a time-consuming method inherited from the wonderful engravers of the Renaissance, a period that in particular fascinates Smith-Harrison. He stresses that his interest in previous artistic traditions will be as essential to him as his connection with present life.

Smith-Harrison’s high artistic standing has guaranteed wide exhibition of his work. He has displayed several solo and group events all over California. His work was also exhibited at the Evergreen Graphic Art Association, Taipei Cultural Centre, Taiwan in 1993.

Additionally, Smith-Harrison has took part in numerous juried exhibitions. Among these include the Ashland University Printmaking Invitational Exhibition, Ohio, where he displayed work in 1999; National Printmaking, College of New Jersey, Trenton in 1997, Tokyo International Mini-Print Triennal 95, Japan; 65th National Print Exhibition, Society of American Graphic Artists, Federal Plaza, New York in 1993 as well as US-UK Print Connection, Barbican Centre in London in 1989.

WilIiam Stolpin was born and brought up in Flint. He went to Garfield elementary, Emerson Junior High as well as old Northern High School, where he is presently a Distinguished Alumni with his picture on the wall at the brand new High School. He managed to graduate from Northern in 1960, and went directly to GMI. He graduated with BME in 1965. While he was in Junior High, he was creating linoleum block Holiday greeting cards. One card particularly had 7 blocks and about 15 colors. He became aware, at that moment, that he had a talent for printmaking, and have been creating images ever since.

Printmaking is definitely a broad medium in art and can be studied almost anyplace, in art classes or from printmaking artists. Once you learn the basics, you will find there are numerous techniques to make a really great print.

Getting to the Picasso Museum in Paris is easy. If you’re using the Paris metro system, just get off at either Saint Paul Station or Chemin Vert Station. The museum is close to both these stations, and the directions are signposted as soon as you get out of the station.

You can also hail a taxi cab and ask them to take you to 5 Rue de Thorigny or ride buses 69, 96, 26 or 75 — those that usually stop near the museum.

The building in which the museum is located is a large 17th century French style mansion set in quiet surroundings with closely cut green lawns at the front. Even people who aren’t specially interested in art will enjoy the atmosphere created by the museum building that reminds you of how Paris would have been two centuries ago.

The Museum apparently is in honor of Pablo Picasso’s works. But this also exhibits some of the his collection of paintings by his peers. Among those paintings are that of by Degas, Matisse and Cezanne.

The Museum exhibits more than 3500 artworks of Picasso which covers not only paintings but drawings, ceramic works, engravings and sculptures, thus, collecting the largest bulk of the prominent artist’s work. The pieces distinctively illustrate surrealism, cubism, war and sacrifice.

Opening times at the museum change throughout the year. From October 1st through to the 31st March opening times are from 9.30am to 5.30pm. In the summer, from April 1st to the 30th September the museum stays open an extra half hour to accommodate the higher numbers of tourists.

The Museum shuts down on Tuesdays and particular holidays such as New Year and Christmas.

Ticket rates differ in accordance with age group. If you are below 26, you get the discounted ticket that costs 5.70 euro. Those 26 and above get an ordinary ticket at 7.70 euro while entrance free for minors or below 18 is free as long as a valid ID can be produced.

If you intend to visit other art museums like the Paris Modern Art Museum, why not buy a Paris museum pass that will allow you to get into 70 different museums in Paris.

1927 witnessed the rise of Indian Motorcycle with three products from its line the Indian Scout, the Indian Chief and the Indian Ace. They made a major impact and besides they acquired the assets of the Ace Motorcycle Company which got them the name of Indian Four.

The year’27 saw the production of the first all-talking motion picture, The Jazz Singer, starring Al Jolson. It was also the year Charles Lindbergh reached Paris after his successful trans-Atlantic flight, and the year Babe Ruth hit his 60th home run in the 8th inning of a game between New York and Washington. The beating that came after Ruth in the line-up was a man by the name of Louis Gehrig.

Though farmers were facing a tough year – tough enough that many of them sold out and became tenant farmers, America was at the peak of the Jazz Age in’27. The Indian Motorcycle Company was having a fine year as well.

In this year Indian Motorcycle models like Scout and Chief were at the top and selling exceptionally well. Indian motorcycle also came up with “Indian Ace” after they acquired the assets of the Ace Company. This top line big and luxurious bike with four cylinders was called Indian Four after one year.

Indian Four bike from the Indian Motorcycle was built till’42. Initially known as Indian Ace this bike got 77 cubic inch (1,256 cc) four cylinder machine in’41. It was fitted with tank-shifting three speed transmission and famous Indian fender. After’42 with the start of World War II the production of Indian four was stopped altogether.

In’27 Indian Motorcycle became synonymous with America. The maximum supply of the Scout and Chief were to the police department. The requirement increased so much that Indian Motorcycle had to have a separate branch dealing with it. Indian Motorcycle also worked upon to lower the frame of the bike in’27.

But they probably didn’t know just how important the 101 Scout from the year’28 would be. And in’27 they could hardly know that 40 years into the future an Indian motorcycle would set an Under-1000 cc speed record at the Bonneville Salt Flats in northwest Utah.

A’27 Indian Motorcycle is a rare find today. The few specimens that have been tenderly restored to the attractive machines they started out as can sell for as much as $30,000. Clearly,’27 was a great year for the Indian Motorcycle Company.

The 1927 Indian motorbike is affectionately remembered by true motorcycle lovers around the world. If you are thinking of purchasing an Indian, check out this page on Indian motorbike dealers.

We all know how hard to stay in the long winter blue. The days are short and cold. The mist and grey color outside the house only cause us feel sleepy and unhappy. It’s also not easy to go anywhere because of a big snow on the road that cause us all have to spend more time indoors. So, how to make yourself more happy indoor during the long cold winter season?

One great way is to lift up some warmth to your home by adding some colorful wall art paintings as it can give a warm glow to your home as well as enhancing your home decoration style. Other good ways are spring your house with colorful pillows, add a warm tablecloth to light up your kitchen, or add some winter curtains that will not only improve the look and feel of your room but will keep out the chills from the windows as well. Just play with the hot colors of red, yellow or orange.

What is the best wall art to warm up your home in winter blue?

The best wall art to beat winter blue is hand-painted oil painting on canvas because of the following reasons:

1. Hand-painted oil painting is a true work of art that creates by hand. 2. Oil painting on canvas lives longer.

Where to find a good hand-painted oil painting to beat winter blue?

First option to get oil painting to warm up your winter blue is to buy online from an online oil painting gallery. Most oil painting reproduction galleries will offer special discount online which a lot cheaper than buying direct from the gallery. Measure your space to get the right size of your painting.

If you prefer the original oil painting, you can look for artist expo or exhibition in your area. You can also look for an online art exhibition as well. Its price may higher but you can be assured to be the proud owner of a unique work of art.

Keep in mind to look for painting which has its tone color in red, yellow or orange as it can produce the warmth and active movement into your home. Any colorful field of flowers like Van Gogh View of Arles with Irises or Monet Il Parco Monceau would be some of the best choices.

Second option to get wall art oil painting to warm up winter blue is to look for an artist to commission a painting for you. You can start by select your most favorite photo / image. It could be the photo of your wedding ceremony, photo from your last holiday, photo of your dog and your Childs played together in the garden from the last summer, etc. then discuss the idea of your preferences and style with your commission artist. You can also select additional elements for the artist to incorporate into your painting as well. The price for commission painting may be as expensive as original painting but it will worth paying for as the end result will be a painting that shows your personal style.

The third option is to do it yourself oil painting. This option will not be easy especially if you are not an artist. You will need to learn how to create an oil painting yourself, learn the oil painting equipments and materials. And then you will need to search for good suppliers to buy oil painting equipments and materials. However, the end result will be the painting that you can be proud of.

The best painting subjects that you can easily do it yourself even if you are just a beginner oil painter are landscapes, flowers, trees, still life or abstract oil paintings. Put in mind to use the warm colors as stated above as you will need this painting to warm up your winter blue that will be a pleasure to be in during the cold winter months.

Thinking of getting a cycle for getting around town? For most people, the first thought would be a motorcycle. Riding a motorcycle is most definitely the “in” thing to do these days.

Riding a motorcycle is possibly one of the most pleasurable means of transportation. Getting on the motorcycle and hitting the road is like an instant vacation. The sun on your face and the wind at your back, your troubles seem to be a thing of the past. It’s about as close to heaven as you can get on this earth. There’s something indescribable about being out in the fresh air. When riding the motorcycle, you’re more in touch with everything and everyone. You take the time to explore new areas and get in touch with the local ambiance, enjoying the ride to the fullest extent.

And riding my motorcycle is certainly less expensive than driving a car. No matter what kind of car you drive, with gas prices over $4 per gallon, the saving is significant.

But, motorcycles are pricey, with some costing as much as a luxury car. Would you ever consider a scooter instead? Scooters have a different design and a different wheel base, and are considered a subclass of the motorcycle. They share many of the same benefits. They’re not considered to be as “macho” and if you’re the Harley or Gold Wing type, you’re probably laughing by now.

Before you totally write off the idea of a scooter, consider some of the benefits. First, they’re just as much fun to ride as a motorcycle, just different. Scooters cost much less than most motorcycles, making them very affordable. You’ll be able to select from many sizes and models. You’ll have no problem finding the one that fits your style and your pocketbook.

One of the larger, more powerful scooters may be your choice if you’ll be taking long rides or driving frequently on the freeways. There are plenty of scooters that will satisfy your need for power if that’s what you’re looking for. A smaller scooter may be just what you want if you’ll be traveling short distances in light traffic. In some states, the smaller scooters don’t require a special driver’s license. Be sure to check your state to be certain of the regulations.

Scooters can be easier to drive as well. There is no need to shift gears, as scooters have automatic engines. Getting on and off the scooter is also easier for most. There is usually storage under the seat and room for a storage container in the back as well, so there’s plenty of room to pack your gear.

If you’ve ridden both a motorcycle and a scooter, you will notice a difference in how people react to you. For some reason, even though it’s probably the furthest thing from the truth, many people think of a motorcyclist as being “tough” and are sometimes intimidated by them. There is a completely different reaction to a scooter rider. People generally break out in a smile and wave. Somehow, the difference in reactions doesn’t seem right, but that’s how it is.

Each state has its own laws governing insurance for scooters. All motor driven cycles in most states require liability insurance for bodily injury and property damage.Scooters must carry the minimum legally mandatory liability insurance and be registered and titled.

Manage your motorcyle insurance cost by doing an annual review. Compare motorcycle insurance rates online each year and switch if you find a lower rate.

Do you like drawing or painting? If so, have you ever considered drawing or painting cars? You may even be able to earn some money out of it. Young drivers love their first car and older drivers love their flashy cars. You could sketch their cars and then sell the sketches to them or offer to create a painting from your sketch.

The good thing about drawing cars is that whilst they are still, they are perfectly still and they do not change their outline or colour like humans change their expressions, stances and clothes. In fact, it would be fairly easy to compile a collection of sketches of fairly exotic cars as well – cars that most people could never even hope to own.

So, how would you go about doing that? Well, the first thing to do is make a decision which sort of cars or vehicles you want to draw. That normally equates to the kind of cars that you find beautiful. You might like vintage, classic, sports or racing cars. Or drag or Formula One or luxury cars or any other type.

Granted some of these types of cars are not easy to observe unless you live in a big city, but you may find a way around that. You may be able to create some excellent drawings from decent photos, videos, manufacturers’ advertisements or Internet promotions. See You Tube.

The thing that you have to do, by whichever means you have available to you, is familiarize yourself with your subject. Merely as early painters used to be concerned with autopsies in order to understand the underlying bone and muscle structure, so ought to the aspirant drawer of cars study the basic structure of cars.

All cars are in essence the same, just as all humans are in essence the same, yet each body is different and every make of car is different as well. Start with the general and work your way towards the specific. In other words, familiarize yourself with the fundamentals of cars and then the particulars of the model that you would like to draw.

If you are already an experienced sketcher, I do not want to tell you how to suck eggs, yet if you are only starting out, I want to give you some tips.

Make your initial sketches fairly simple. Begin by drawing fundamental shapes: most cars are oblong with squarish side windows and oval front and back windows. Once you have a basic shape, you can start trying to add some details.

Do not be worried about going over your initial lines in order to make the shapes more realistic. When you begin, your car may look as if it is emerging from a fog, but the next time you draw a car, the lines will be better and more truthful from the beginning.

The main thing is not to be worried about making mistakes and only listen to critics who have tried sketching themselves.

Owen Jones, the author of this piece, writes on several topics, but is now involved with how to compare tyre prices.

Are you the kind of person who is forever changing your room or even your whole house?
Before you go off and hand in your notice to your present employer though, I’d recommend that you to think about it very carefully. Remember that, although the market for interior design jobs is larger now than ever before, most interior design jobs are for the self-employed and so you will have to tender for each job, so you might not actually win any jobs when you first start.

Therefore, you should first make absolutely certain that interior designing is really for you. And if it is, then make sure that you have saved enough money for you to be able to live comfortably until your new career gets off the ground.

If this doesn’t sound quite as interesting to you now as it did, you could always stay in your old job and continue with any interior design jobs that you might win at the same time until you feel confident enough to make a decision between the two. It’s probably a safe bet to assume that by that time, you would have decided whether you wanted to continue chasing interior design jobs or not.

You also have the choice of attending an interior design college or taking some interior design courses to further your interior design interests. This is a really good way for you to test the water before you risk too much. An added bonus with either of these options is that they can be completed with ease and shouldn’t present you with any real hardship.

Taking any of these courses will only enhance your natural ability and develop any talent you have in the area of interior designing. This in turn makes it easier for you to try for more interior design jobs by giving you a boost in confidence and knowledge, so that you’re better placed to stand up to whatever comes along.

The most difficult part will be taking that all important first step of coming out your nice safe job to go out into the unknown world of bidding for interior design jobs. However, for the person who’s got the interior design bug, there’s no better way to satisfy their craving than by trying for interior design jobs.
